CALM ON THE BAY
The San Francisco Bay Bridge is an iconic collection of style, history and amazing views. It is also a critical piece of construction that carries approximately a quarter of a million people from San Francisco to Oakland and back again. One of the bridge's most well known moments occured in October 1989. During the Loma Prieta earthquake one section of the bridge collapsed and has since been retro-fitted to withstand even a larger quake. The weather and tides this night were so calm that reflections could be seen below in the tranquil bay waters from San Francisco's Embarcadero all the way to Oakland.
