ARE YOU MY MOTHER?
Elephant Seal pups are born mostly black, and thus are called black coats. They are small in comparison, but will be huge soon enough. After they molt, they will have a silver to dark gray coat that fades to brownish--yellow and tan. Adult males have hairless necks and chests speckled with pink, white and light brown.
