LUNCH TIME
While most people know that bears hibernate over the winter, few know that females can give birth during the typical hybernation months of January and February. The sow will give birth to offspring that are approximately one pound. This tiny creature begins to nurse almost immediately. These small cubs continue to grow in the protective environment of the den until spring.
