BLACK BEAR ON THE MOVE
Black Bears are the most abundant and widely distributed species of the North American bears. There are approximately 100,000 Black Bears within the boundries of Alaska. It stands at around 29 inches at the shoulder and 60 inches from nose to tail. Black Bear hunting is legal in Alaska with approximately 3500 bears taken every year.
